Is MISSION SIMPLE a sport specific training program or exercises?
It is very important to remember that MISSION SIMPLE is NOT a Sport Specific Training Program or weight loss program or a system of “cool exercises”. RHINO ATHLETICS is not a Professional Coaching resource specific to one sport, we ARE a Maximum Athletic Performance resource that is incredibly good at Energy Production & Efficiency in Performance Mechanics… although, we DO have some incredibly talented Professional Colleagues in practically every sport that we work with to make sure what we do will fit YOUR performance NEEDS & WANTS.
MISSION SIMPLE is a set of tools that enhance every aspect of your preferred living training and competing systems and programs – we do not replace your current tools, we enhance them to help you get Your NEEDS & WANTS met as quickly (and safely) as possible.
Is 15 minutes enough time to get anything done?
Emphatic YES! It is a perfect amount of time to address a simple issue like, “What simple thing can I do TODAY to improve my Athletic Process for Today?” Or to answer 1 or 2 questions about how to maximize YOUR current Athletic Process for Sports… or Life.
PERSONAL COACHING Sessions are also available in 40, 55 and 90 minute increments.
What does a PERSONAL COACHING Session look like?
We take inventory… In a 15 minute PERSONAL COACHING Session we take a quick verbal inventory of YOUR Competitive Process, all four parts: Posture, Position, Proficiency and Power. Then we have YOU stand and move to take a quick visual inventory of all four “Ps”. Then discuss YOUR primary concern with YOUR Athletic Process and offer a simple Cue-Based solution for YOUR concern.
The longer PERSONAL COACHING Sessions allow us to explore these four “Ps” in greater detail, generating more profound solutions.
Does RHINO ATHLETICS provide remote coaching services?
YES! The vast majority of our Personal Coaching Sessions are facilitated remotely. We primarily utilize ZOOM, but can use Google Meet or Microsoft Teams if necessary.
From where should I setup to ZOOM My Sport?
The options are ALL YOURS, couch to field, pitch, range or court - all work for us. The minimum space we need from our perspective is that you have enough space to stand and extend your arms fully in front, above and to the side of you, all while on camera. Whether it is YOUR couch, office or a specific performance venue makes no difference for the result of a PERSONAL COACHING Session – a specific performance venue may be (way) more than necessary as the drills or exercises we teach do not require large spaces, they are all designed to be portable and very effective.
What types of Fitness Programs does RHINO ATHLETICS offer?
We do offer individualized fitness and conditioning programs for those looking for Simple Solutions to their Athletic Performance wants and needs. Programs focused on strength, speed, efficient power production, weight management, and many others are available.
Can a new student start with a PERSONAL COACHING Session?
YES. Anyone can start with a PERSONAL COACHING Session. This is generally true with all 4 of our MISSION SIMPLE Tools. The one possible exception is that if YOU want a complete reconstruction of YOUR Athletic Process, we would need a NEEDS & WANTS ASSESSMENT completed as a First Step in designing a program that will allow YOU to have YOUR brand-new Athletic Process as soon as possible. NEEDS & WANTS ASSESSMENTS require a 90 minute Personal Coaching Session to be facilitated.
If I've never worked with you before, what is the optimal path you'd like me to follow for success?
First step in success is to create a stable, coachable platform for performance. This is true in ALL aspects of life, it is just more obvious in sports. In other words, create an Athletic Machine that can facilitate the skills desired in YOUR performance. Second step is to maximize the strength of that machine for its purpose, in this case YOUR Sport. And finally, learn how that newly stabilized and stronger machine changes the skills YOU already have, and which new skills are now available to you.
STEP 1 – Stabilize YOUR Athletic Machine.
STEP 2 – Strengthen YOUR Athletic Machine.
STEP 3 – Synchronize 1 & 2 with the skills you have or want.
What are some examples of what I might learn?
What YOU might learn from our 15-minute meeting… It will be significantly determined by the combination of YOUR wish list and what our inventories of your Competitive Process indicates are YOUR possibilities and potentials. Could be something as simple as a cue that gives you an ideal Performance Posture, or as profound as discovering what it feels like to have YOUR hips work like hips (instead of a wall) in the way of smooth actions, or that YOU really want a full TUNE-UP of your Athletic Process as well.
Should I send a video of me preforming my sport?
YOU can definitely send a video of YOU doing what you do, although it is not required. More than the other training formats we offer, MISSION SIMPLE Tools are intended to address the most important aspect of your fitness and conditioning process, the integrity of your life structure and resourcing practices. They are NOT intended to be used to make dramatic changes or create anything new in YOUR Athletic Process – although they do often inspire a new “lens” for YOU to see Your WHYs, HOWs and WHATs.
Are in-person sessions available?
YES! Especially if you find yourself in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. I am ALWAYS open to coordinating coincidental travel with YOUR location (if possible)… or, if you want to cover travel & lodging expenses, I can always meet with you at a mutually convenient time and place – please email me directly if YOU have that request at coachrhino@rhinoathletics.com
